THE STUDIO

One studio, one direction

Stella Taleb is a Sydney architecture and interior design studio creating residences and boutique commercial spaces of quiet refinement, with architecture, interiors and project management under one creative direction.

THE FOUNDER

Stella Taleb

Stella Taleb has been practising since 2003. Her first studio was founded in Oslo after postgraduate studies there, and the practice has called Sydney home since 2018, with projects reaching from the Eastern Suburbs and the Hills District to Paris and the French Riviera.

Her path to design was not a straight line. A career spanning several countries and industries, from fashion to healthcare to real estate, shaped a designer who understands how people actually live, work and entertain, and who treats every brief as a story about its owner rather than a style to apply.

"Being a perfectionist, I treat every project as if it were my own. That is my success."

Stella Taleb · Founder & Principal

THE TEAM

Many hands, one eye

Behind every project is a full team of architects, interior designers and project managers, working alongside a trusted circle of builders and specialist trades. Stella directs every project personally: she sets the design direction, reviews the drawings and walks the sites, while the team carries the work across each discipline.

That structure is deliberate. Architecture, documentation, project management and styling move as a single team under one direction, which is why nothing is lost between the first sketch and the finished room.

The studio works from its showroom at Shop AR2, 252 Botany Road, Alexandria, where clients can see materials, joinery details and finishes in person before a single decision is locked in.

HOW WE THINK

Three beliefs behind every project

Restraint

Materials

One direction

The most luxurious rooms are the calmest ones. We would rather remove a detail than add one, and let proportion and light do the talking.

Natural stone, warm timber, linen and aged brass: materials chosen to grow more beautiful with use, detailed so the craftsmanship shows quietly.

Design, documentation and the build managed as one continuous thread, so the home you imagined is the home that gets delivered.
